Freddy Maresca
Freddy Maresca (trumpet) is a dedicated musician currently serving as the President and CEO of The Lakes Brass Quintet. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Belmont University (2020) and a Master's degree in Trumpet Pedagogy also from Belmont (2023). Freddy is also a member of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity. As a composer and arranger, Freddy's compositions and arrangements have been performed at a variety of national and international conventions. As an educator, he teaches trumpet lessons, elementary general music, beginning band classes, and college-level music theory across the Middle Tennessee area. Within The Lakes Brass Quintet, Freddy plays first trumpet and manages the ensemble's social media accounts. He is also an active freelance musician in Nashville, regularly contributing to church services and performing with the Music City Brass ensemble.
Nolan Roth
Nolan Roth (trumpet) is a professional composer and freelance trumpet plater residing in Nashville, Tennessee. Nolan attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee where he earned a bachelor degree in Classical Music Composition. He studied under Joel Treybig, Grammy award winning artist Dr. Bill Pursell, Dr. Tony Moreira, and Dr. Mark Mark Volker. Nolan's compositions have been showcased throughout Nashville including the ECHO concert series at the Parthenon. In addition to composing music, Nolan has performed globally including France, Italy, Germany, and Denmark. Nolan is a founding member and CFO of The Lakes Brass Quintet. He is currently pursuing his masters from the University of Tennessee.


Megan Walters
Megan Walters (French Horn) is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, earning both her Bachelor of Music (2022) and Masters in Education (2023). Instructed and mentored by Leslie Norton, principal horn player of the Nashville Symphony, Megan has played in brass and woodwind quintet, Wind Symphony and Orchestra throughout her collegiate career and beyond. She also has extensive drum corps experience with Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps placing second at the world championships in 2022. She currently plays horn with the Lakes Brass Quintet, is a freelance musician and judge around the Middle Tennessee area, and runs a private horn studio throughout the Middle Tennessee area. She currently teaches guitar and class piano at Blackman High School.
Soren Allen
Soren Allen (trombone) is a composer, arranger, performer, and music theorist living and working in Nashville, TN. He specializes in composing wind chamber music and is proficient in writing for both woodwind and brass ensembles; though, he also writes music for piano, voice, and strings as well. Soren began playing trombone when he was nine years old and since has performed in ensembles spanning a variety of genres including classical, contemporary, electroacoustic, and musical theater. Soren’s teaching experience includes assistant directing Belmont University’s New Music Ensemble, coaching voice for youth theater, lecturing music theory, running a weekly songwriting course, and teaching piano lessons. You will often find Soren cozied up at home with his beautiful wife Lauren, their son Forest, and their two cats, Juniper and Aspen.


Nathan Mohnke
Nathan Mohnke is a low brass player and music educator based in Middle Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Trombone Performance from Belmont University, class of 2022. During his time at Belmont, he performed with the university’s Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz Band I, and Chamber Brass Ensemble. He also served as the Education Coordinator for Belmont’s United Sound program, which provides musical opportunities for students with disabilities. In 2019, he marched with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, earning a silver medal with the corps.
Since 2023, Nathan has been a band director at Siegel High School, where he teaches multiple concert bands, jazz band, and marching band. His students, both at Siegel and in his private studio, have achieved prestigious musical accomplishments, earning positions in Mid-State and All-State Bands, Governor’s School for the Arts, Interlochen Arts Camp, and world-class DCI corps.
In addition to teaching, Nathan is an active performer with the Lakes Brass Quintet, which regularly performs locally and engages a broad audience through social media, where their content has garnered thousands of followers. He believes that music is for everyone and is passionate about helping students of all backgrounds discover their potential and develop a lifelong love for music.
